In Châtenay-Malabry, on the former site of the École Centrale, the LaVallée eco-district is being developed with 213,000 m² GFA along the edge of the Sceaux Park. This project, initiated by the city, reflects the desire to enhance the remarkable location of a site that was once closed off, with a strong focus on the quality of life.
The LaVallée project offers the opportunity to open this former campus site to the residents of Châtenay-Malabry and the broader population of the Île-de-France region through the development of housing and retail spaces, the creation of a large and planted promenade, numerous organized activities, and an urban farm.
The sustainable development framework is based on several key principles that are interconnected: human-scale density, urban nature, and diversity. This new eco-district aims to be exemplary and innovative in terms of sustainable development, from the deconstruction phase of the École Centrale, through its design, management, and reuses.
