CITÉ VERTE FOSSE ROUGE – Sucy-en-Brie (94)

Urban Regeneration of the ZAC Cité Verte Fosse Rouge

We envision the future of the ZAC Cité Verte Fosse Rouge as an opportunity to design and build the garden city of the 21st century, while preserving as much of the existing site as possible. The ZAC Cité Verte Fosse Rouge, spanning 13 hectares on the northern edge of the municipality, adjacent to the Morbras departmental park, is endowed with an exceptional natural and landscape setting. The project involves rethinking the role of the Cité Verte and Fosse Rouge area, which were developed in the 1960s, following the urban model of large housing estates. The goal is to reestablish connections on an intercommunal scale, link with the town center, create diverse and high-quality housing, and foster a complementary approach for a more sustainable city. These neighborhoods currently consist of 1,400 housing units and have commercial spaces (Rond d’Or shopping center) in the heart of the area, along with services and amenities. We are supporting the restructuring of this area, which already has significant heritage and landscape value, to bring out an identity as a sustainable nature city of tomorrow.
